A Culture of Celebration

As Caroline and I think about how we want to use our newsletters, we feel that it is important to not only give you personal updates, but to provide resources to help equip you wherever you are. That being said, this update is more about resourcing you rather than tell you all what we've been up to.

Some of you are pastors, home church leaders, or you simply enjoy a good study or a podcast - and for that reason we want to make resources available to you. One of the greatest takeaways for us this last week was "developing a Culture of Celebration" and how this helps provide greater freedom in our lives. We hope that you will dig deep into this topic and take full advantage of the resources below.

Culture of Celebration

The overall title for this week was "Freedom Week" - but the teaching that stuck out the most was "developing a Culture of Celebration."

Let's admit it, most of what you here in the news, on social media, even from friends and family, is often critical, cynical, or simply put, it's not life giving. We don't have to live in cultures like this. We can develop a culture of celebreation, and reap the rewards of tamed tongue. Practice this in your home, your small groups, your church, whatever, and see what happens.

The below link will take you to our blog with all the written material we recieved during our training. At the end of the blog post is a downloadble PDF document that you can save and print for your own use. Enjoy.

But Wait - There's More!

The above resource contains really good material, and we hope that you take the time to study it... but for those who want to listen to similar content, check out Andy Byrd's Podcast on the same topic. It's well worth the listen, we promise.

(The link below will take you to our blog, it's not a mistake, the link to the podcast is accessible from the blog post. We do this so in case you delete this e-mail you will know that you can find it from our blog)

Freedom is a Choice

Walking in freedom is a choice, but it's not always easy to see where we are bound. The following material has been used in my home church, as well as here on our DTS. These manuals can be used as a personal journey, or you can find a church that is running them as a class.

If you are from the Hudson, Ohio area, I've included a link to River of Life Community Church because I know they run the Freedom class from time to time. Watch their rythm of gathering video or go right to the contact tab to find out how you can reach out to them with any questions you have.

A Prayer for You

Heavenly Father,

This week has been amazing. You are amazing. Your Word says that Your thoughts of us are precious, and that if we were to count them, they would outnumber the grains of sand. Teach each and every one of us to see one another the way You see us. May our tongues be marked with life and not death. May we learn to see You rightly and to see one another rightly. I pray that everyone would be drawn into a culture of celebration, and that trees of life would be daily planted in every conversation.

In Jesus name,

Amen.

Please note that we have added a mailing address below. Feel free to write to us. If you feel compelled to send a care package, please only send perishables permitted to be sent via snail mail. When we leave for outreach nothing can remain at the YWAM base; we have to carry eveything with us. For this reason, we are asking you don't send trinkets, gifts, etc.
