A Promise to the Nations

There is a promise that the Lord has to His people and to the nations. Here on campus there are flags raised for every nation represented through the student body. The photograph above was captured by one of our friends, and it serves as a beutiful testimony that the Lord has a promise yet to be fulfilled on this earth.

We (the Sheplers) find it a great joy to be part of that fulfillment as we are preparing to be sent out across the world. Throughout the later part of this month, 50+ teams are going to be sent from Hawaii to countries all across the globe, unified by one purpose: to serve the least, the lost, and the lowest, in and through the name of Jesus.

This group of young people are unlike any we have ever seen before. Their hunger to serve, no matter to cost, their desire to go, no matter the circumstance, and their love for Jesus, deep in the depths of their hearts, is unparalleled. Without a doubt we are daily in the presence of true world changers; heroes of the faith who will stop at nothing until they see the Great Commission completed.

I wish with all my heart that every one of you could experience what get to experience here. These past few months have been truly awe-inspiring, and we aren't even half way done with DTS. Caroline and I are so excited that you guys have chosen to follow us on this mighty adventure in the pursuit of our calling.

Where do I begin?

It is hard to explain the deep changes that the Lord has made in me. It's hard to imagine how redemptive the Redeemer has been in my life. A weird statement, I know, but it's true.

I've learned many things in my time here in Hawaii - but chiefly among them is that I have a voice that matters, a story worth telling, and skills I never thought that could be used for the Gospel.

Allow me to explain...

Greg's Grotto

Admittedly my update bounces around quite a bit so my apologies in advance. I'll break down the highlights though:

- We have our tickets booked for Uganda: We depart December 23rd from Hawaii and arrive in Kampala, on December 25th.

- Watching my wife become the wonderful woman of God that she is has been absolutely awesome.

- Prayers are highly appreciated as we weigh our post-DTS options. God has given us each some pretty amazing confirmations and ideas moving forward, but we really need the right timing.

- Speaking of post-DTS: We already have plans immediately following our outreach, but we will defintely be back in Ohio mid-March and if you're part of Messenger Fellowship, we have plans to be there for that as well. We'll try to see as many of you all as we can!

Hooked on This Song

This past week our school was blessed to have Rachel and Wallace Faagutu lead worship. It was incredible.

Their tunes are pretty catchy and have been rattling around in our heads all week. Of course, what kind of friends would we be if we didn't share some of their songs so that you too can have their beats thumping around in your mind.

Enjoy.

A Prayer for You

Heavenly Father,

Thank You for everyone reading this message. You have blessed Caroline and I with such an amazing family of supporters. Bless each and every one. I pray for greater revelation of who You are. Deepen our hearts for You and for one another. Give fresh vision and dreams to those seeking You, and stir in the hearts of those near and far to You.

In Jesus name, Amen.

Please note that we have added a mailing address below. Feel free to write to us. If you feel compelled to send a care package, please only send perishables permitted to be sent via snail mail. When we leave for outreach nothing can remain at the YWAM base; we have to carry eveything with us. For this reason, we are asking you don't send trinkets, gifts, etc.
